There are many things to be enjoyed in autumn in the Lake District, some of which that are just a short drive away, there is the maple walk at John Ruskin’s home at Brantwood on the edge of Coniston Water or the stunning arts and crafts house at Blackwell, built by the architect MH Baillie Scott and overlooking Lake Windermere Scott built the home for his client Sir Edward Holt and he created what can only be described as a masterpiece of 20th century design, a perfect example of the Arts and Crafts movement and at less than a 5 minute drive from the hotel no matter what the weather, it really does make a fantastic day out. We also have Windermere Lake Cruises on our doorstep, where you can go on a lovely lake cruise and also visit the Lakes Aquarium at Lakeside or pay a visit to the memory-evoking Motor Museum which is not just for motor buffs, it is a celebration of all things vintage and retro. COVID-19 Procedures for the hotel
We have put in place new procedures to ensure the safety of you, our guests and of our team, we are requesting that prior to arrival all monies for the accommodation are paid for in advance and that you book a time for breakfast and dinner as we have reduced the number of tables in the public areas to ensure we have sufficient space in between the tables for social distancing regulations.
We have changed our check-in time from 3 pm to 4 pm to ensure we have more time to deep clean the rooms, we are 'fogging' the rooms between guest use, the fogging machine covers the room in a fine droplet sanitiser that ensures the room is fully sanitised between guests.
We are cleaning all high touch points every hour and we have lots of sanitiser stations available for staff and guest use around the hotel.
It is mandatory that all guests wear facemasks in the hotel public areas unless seating when eating or drinking.
As per the law recently introduced by the government, all food and beverage services will stop at 10pm this applies to both residents and non-residents alike.
