Back for the 12th year, our popular Beatrix Potter's Experience package is a great way to enjoy your Lakeland holiday.
This amazing break is available for stays between 1st April 2021 and 30th September 2021, please book early to avoid disappointment.
Our two-night break is the perfect way for fans of the beloved children’s author Beatrix Potter to experience the Lake District life and sights that inspired her.
This break includes entry to The World Of Beatrix Potter, the ultimate attraction for fans. After viewing a short film introducing visitors to the author, her stories, and illustrations, you will then move through to the main exhibition where you will then experience all the sights, sounds and smells of the Potter books. All your favourite characters are there including Benjamin Bunny, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-duck, and, of course, Peter Rabbit.
You can also take a cruise on Lake Windermere and see for yourself the stunning scenery that inspired Miss Potter’s famous illustrations. Entrance to The World of Beatrix Potter and the cruise with Windermere Lake Cruises is included in your break price as is a fantastic half day Beatrix Potter tour with Mountain Goat.
Mountain Goat will collect you from the hotel at Lunchtime giving you ample opportunity to relax after breakfast before you head out for the afternoon in a luxurious 16 seated Mercedes sprinter mini-coach, fully equipped with air conditioning, high view seats and large windows giving the perfect viewpoint to look over those notorious high Lakeland stone walls. Your tour includes a visit to Hawkshead village, Tarn Hows beauty spot, and of course Hilltop farm and gardens, the former home of Beatrix. Hilltop is a national trust property and while entry to the house is not included in the price, there is sufficient time to add this on at an extra cost, unless of course, you are a national trust member in which case you can visit at no extra cost. Hilltop is a 17th-century farmhouse that can only be described as a time capsule of her life. Full of her favourite things it looks simply as if Beatrix has popped out for a walk.
After all this adventure why not come back to the hotel for a cream tea before freshening up and changing for dinner.
This great value package includes 2 nights of dinner, bed, and breakfast at Lindeth Howe Hotel, the only 4-star hotel in the world that is a former house owned by Beatrix. The package runs from March to September inclusive and must be booked at least 3 days prior to arrival to guarantee a seat with mountain goat. Free parking is available at the hotel, along with a charging point for electric cars which is free to use, we can also arrange return transfers from Windermere rail station to the hotel for a small additional cost.
We are pleased to offer 3 beautiful ground floor rooms that are wheelchair friendly and all have a wet room style bathroom, folding wheelchairs are welcome on the mountain goat busses, there are 2 small steps to access the bus and a grab rail to assist you, we would politely ask that if you are a wheelchair user you do let us know upon booking so that we can alert Mountain Goat, please note that Mountian Goat are unable to transport Electric Wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Prices start from only £195.00 per person per night, based on 2 adults sharing a standard room. Upgrades are available and children aged between 5 and 13 are charged at 50% of the adult rate when sharing a room with 2 full paying adults. Unfortunately, this package is not available to children under 5 due to the age restrictions with Mountain Goat. Dinner is from the A la Carte menu and does not include supplement items. A card is requireed to guarentee the booking, if you need to cancel, please do so within 72 hours prior to arrival, if the cancelation is within 72 hours of arrival, the first night stay and the cost of the mountain goat tour will be charged to the card we have on file, in the event of a no show, the full coat of the stay will be charged to your card that we have on file.

About Lindeth Howe!
Lindeth Howe is a stunning 35 bedroom hotel on the outskirts of Bowness On Windermere set in 6 acres of gently sloping gardens and with an enviable vista of the hills on the other side of the lake. We have a very extensive food offering that we offer around the clock and a great team of chefs in the kitchen that are wondrous at special dietary requirements, and if you are gluten-free, don’t worry you can enjoy a homemade gluten-free scone with your free cream tea!
Breakfast is served daily between 8am and 10am, lunch is available from 12noon until 2pm, afternoon tea from 12noon until 5pm and dinner from 6.30pm until 9pm, light bites are available in the bar from 12noon until 9pm and we have a 24-hour room service menu for those midnight snacks!
Many of our bedrooms have stunning views across the gardens to the lake, however, please let us know if a view is important to you when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you, although with so much to do in the area, who wants to spend all their time in the room!

Lindeth Howe is only a 30-minute drive from the M6 junction 36. The drive along the A591 is a beautiful one and takes in some lovely sights along the way, why not stop off at Staveley village on the way? There is a lovely community shop in the retail area where Hawkshead brewery is based that sells homemade jams, spreads, and crafts by local people (There is one lady that sells her green tomato chutney – heaven!!)
When you are planning your route to the hotel, please use the phrase ‘Longtail Hill’ in your SatNav as not all route guidance systems recognise the postcode as belonging to the hotel.

While all dietary requirements and allergies are catered for, it is important that you inform us about this at the time of booking so Chef can ensure he briefs his kitchen team appropriately.
COVID-19 Procedures for the hotel
We have put in place new procedures to ensure the safety of you, our guests and of our team, we are requesting that you book a time for breakfast and dinner as we have reduced the number of tables in the public areas to ensure we have sufficient space in between the tables for social distancing regulations.
We have changed our check-in time from 3 pm to 4 pm to ensure we have more time to deep clean the rooms, we are 'fogging' the rooms between guest use, the fogging machine covers the room in a fine droplet disinfectant that ensures the room is fully sanitised between guests.
We are cleaning all high touch points every hour and we have lots of sanitiser stations available for staff and guest use around the hotel.
We have adapted our facemask policy so it is in line with the current guidance. It is our guest's choice if they wish to wear a facemask and as it is with everyone else, we have left it to our team members to make their own informed choice. The team will respect your wishes and we politely request that you respect theirs.
COVID-19 procedures for Mountain Goat
The safety of our passengers and employees as always is our utmost priority. That's why you can travel with us with the assurance that we have put rigorous new measures in place to increase our hygiene and safety procedures. We are following all government and industry guidelines and standards as well as training all our employees on new COVID-19 procedures. All our procedures will be put into place to comply with the World Health Organisation, UK government guidance, and The Department of Transport but also for the comfort of our passengers throughout their tour.
Our fleet of executive vehicles will be sanitised before the start of each tour as well as during the tour whilst passengers take time off the vehicle. We will be complying with all social distancing measures on our vehicles as per the government guidelines. Hand sanitiser will be freely available and we are inputting increased hygiene procedures. Our driver-guides will be conducting additional deep cleaning and disinfection of handrails, door handles, seats, and overhead compartments on a daily basis.

Our knowledgeable, friendly, and professional driver-guides have undertaken COVID training to ensure they are giving the best experience at the highest standards. Our driver guides have a diverse and colourful background including park rangers, police officers, and teachers, many living in the national parks their whole lives. They will tell you the history of their homeland as well as tales of their professional lives within the national park too. They love sharing the hidden gems and they'll let you in on the local favorites.
We work with trusted suppliers across the national parks. All attractions and places we visit as well as recommend have been hand-selected by us and they meet our hygiene and safety standards.
