What Are Your Attraction Options?

Half day tour with Mountain Goat. This is a great option for those who want to get out and see the area but really don't want to take the car! The six* lakes spectacular is a scenic half-day tour through the heart of the Lake District, ideal if you’re short on time but still want to experience the very best of this remarkable landscape. Departing weekdays with collection and return to the hotel front door, you soon leave the bustle behind and wind your way through valleys, along quiet shores and beneath towering fells. Along the journey, you’ll visit six* beautiful lakes, each with its own character and charm. Take in the sweeping waters of Windermere, the peaceful stretches of Thirlmere, the storybook setting of Grasmere, and the gentle beauty of Rydal Water — with breath-taking views unfolding at every turn. You also have the oppertunity to 'upgrade your tour' to a full day tour and this can be done in discussion with our reception team!

*At the time of writing this, due to a landslide, Kirkstone pass is currently unpassable. Therefore until further notice you will not visit Brotherswater or Ullswater on your tour. Your incredible driver guides will instead take you off the beaten track to a few other fabulous Lake District sites and lakes.

Motor Museum. Explore a fascinating collection of over 30,000 exhibits that trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century, cycles, motorbikes, motor cars and automobilia. Housed in a converted mill in the heart of the Lake District, they are minutes from Lake Windermere. Much more than just a motor museum, it is also local history and period shopping displays, authentic recreations and picturesque riverside cafe makes it a great day out for the whole family.

Windermere Lake Cruise Ticket. Half day ticket. A cruise with Windermere Lake Cruises is a must do when in the area, what trip to Windermere is complete without a cruise on the lake. Which boat will you get? The fleet consists of large heritage "steamers" (like the MV Swan or MV Teal), modern launches, and traditional wooden vessels. The larger steamers offer wheelchair accessibility, heated indoor cabins, licensed bars, and outdoor observation decks.

You must book your attaraction when you book your stay, if you do not make a selection you will be give a lake cruise ticket. It is not possible to make your selection at the hotel as the team at the hotel need to book tickets on your behalf. The Mountain Goat tour is not available until the 8th September, if you book to stay between the 1st September 2026 and the 8th September 2026 you will not be able to select the Mountain Goat tour unless you pay for an upgrade to a full day tour.

  • If you book Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast, your complimentary night will include dinner too.

  • If you book Bed and Breakfast, your free night will be the same.
