From 1st December you can embrace the spirit of early Christmas celebrations as our splendid hotel will dressed with 7ft Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and festive ornaments and you can indulge in delicious seasonal treats.

Why not book several rooms with friends or family whom you may not get to see over the festive season? You can exchange gifts and build anticipation of the special season to come.

What can you do in November and December?

There are lots of things to do in November and December in the Lake District, from a cruise on the lake to a walk to the top of Orrest Head to enjoy the wonderful vista from the top, from the hotel you can enjoy the walk of the Windermere 3 peaks and of course, you can also simply relax!

Windermere Jetty will be showcasing 'Microworld' throughout November, the Mountain Goat company run tours throughout the year and you can enjoy a cruise on the lake every day of the year with the exception on Christmas Day!

A little closer to home (well to where you will be staying!) On the 7th of December, we will be hosting an afternoon with Graham Tyson who will be reading from the must for any festive season 'Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol' tickets are available by booking on our website. It is a perfect way to start the festive season, phenomenally popular last year, this is sure to see out quickly once again!

Following on from that the following day on the 8th of December we have our 'Holiday Market' From 12 noon until 3pm we will have the amazing team from Lake District Falconry for a meet the birds, Santa will be here to see the kids and we will have many independent local traders here to get your Christmas shopping off to a flying start! There is no charge to meet the birds or meet Santa, all we ask is that, if you are in a position to do so, you bring a donation of tinned or dried goods for the Windermere food bank.

All rooms are on a first come first served basis, and include Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, these rates are not available on group or event bookings.

Children's Rate 

The rates for Children are based on bed and breakfast only and all other meals and any drinks will be charged as taken

Adults in an extra bed are charged at £55.00 per night on a bed and breakfast basis

Children aged 16 and over will be charged at the full adult rate.

About Lindeth Howe!

Lindeth Howe is a stunning hotel with over 30 bedrooms on the outskirts of Bowness On Windermere set in 6 acres of gently sloping gardens and with an enviable vista of the hills on the other side of the lake. We have a very extensive food offering that we offer around the clock and a great team of chefs in the kitchen who are wondrous at special dietary requirements, we just ask that you let us know before your arrival day.

Breakfast is served daily between 8am and 10am, lunch is available from 12noon until 2pm, afternoon tea from 12noon until 5pm and dinner from 6pm until 8.30pm, light bites are available in the bar from 11am until 9pm.

Our well-stocked bar has a most wonderful barman who is a master at everything from the most obscure cocktails to a simple sweet sherry and with a variety of Gin’s to choose from including a local Lakes Gin – one of the only gins in the world to be produced in a world heritage site, what more could you need!

Many of our bedrooms have stunning views across the gardens to the lake, however, please let us know if a view is important to you when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you, although with so much to do in the area, who wants to spend all their time in the room!
